Man Accused of Assault, Attempted Murder Dies by Suicide in Hospital

Udupi SP Hariram Shankar clarified allegations surrounding the suicide of Pradeep Poojary in a government hospital toilet. Poojary faced multiple criminal cases, including assault and attempted murder charges, following complaints from a woman. An FIR was registered on November 10, 2025, after he allegedly threatened the woman and sexually assaulted her. He was later accused of attacking her again in late October, with police obtaining an audio recording of his alleged intent to kill her. A sub-inspector was suspended for failing to register an FIR for the October incident.

सरकारी अस्पताल के टॉयलेट में आत्महत्या हत्या के प्रयास के आरोपी की मौत

उडुपी एसपी हरिराम शंकर ने सरकारी अस्पताल के टॉयलेट में प्रदीप पुजारी की आत्महत्या के आरोपों पर सफाई दी। पुजारी पर एक महिला की शिकायत के बाद मारपीट और हत्या के प्रयास सहित कई आपराधिक मामले चल रहे थे। 10 नवंबर 2025 को महिला को धमकी देने और यौन उत्पीड़न करने के आरोप में एफआईआर दर्ज की गई थी। बाद में उस पर अक्टूबर के अंत में फिर से हमला करने का आरोप लगा, पुलिस ने उसे मारने की मंशा की ऑडियो रिकॉर्डिंग हासिल की। अक्टूबर की घटना के लिए एफआईआर दर्ज करने में विफलता पर एक सब-इंस्पेक्टर को निलंबित कर दिया गया था।
