Panel Finds No Case For KIIFB Continuation, Cites Fiscal Harm

A panel led by former bureaucrat Sudha Pillai has concluded there is no justification for the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) to continue raising funds and financing projects. The report, tabled in the State Assembly, states KIIFB's functioning has a significant detrimental impact on the State's future fiscal trajectory. The original rationale for KIIFB has been extinguished as its borrowing is now counted as direct State borrowing.
