Ooty Collector Inspects Rain-Hit Areas, Plans Lake Dredging

Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru inspected waterlogged areas in Ooty following heavy rainfall that caused inundation on Boat House Road and other locations. Udhagamandalam town received approximately 58 mm of rain, leading to temporary road closures. The Collector noted that an old railway bridge contributes to flooding and plans are underway to install a permanent pumping system. Additionally, further dredging of Ooty Lake is scheduled to commence soon to address water hyacinth issues.

नीलगिरि की जिला कलेक्टर लक्ष्मी भाव्या तन्नेरू ने भारी बारिश के बाद ऊटी के जलमग्न इलाकों का निरीक्षण किया, जिससे बोट हाउस रोड और अन्य स्थानों पर जलभराव हो गया। उधगमंडलम शहर में लगभग 58 मिमी बारिश हुई, जिससे अस्थायी रूप से सड़कें बंद कर दी गईं। कलेक्टर ने बताया कि एक पुराना रेलवे पुल बाढ़ का कारण बन रहा है और एक स्थायी पंपिंग प्रणाली स्थापित करने की योजना बनाई जा रही है। इसके अलावा, जलकुंभी की समस्या से निपटने के लिए ऊटी झील की और खुदाई जल्द ही शुरू होने वाली है।
