Mahesh Bhupathi, Sania Mirza Elected To AITA Governing Body As Sportspersons Of Outstanding Merit

Indian tennis legends Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza have been elected to the All India Tennis Association (AITA) Executive Committee, also serving as Sportspersons of Outstanding Merit (SOM) representatives. Bhupathi received the highest votes in the Executive Committee election with 23, while Mirza secured 18. They were previously elected to the General Body as SOM representatives. Their inclusion in the Executive Committee means they will not contest for office-bearer positions. Bhupathi expressed optimism about implementing structural changes for Indian tennis, noting the significant turnout of SOM voters.
