Andhra CM Naidu Seeks Permanent Withdrawal of Polavaram Stop Work Order

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has urged the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti to permanently withdraw the 'stop work' order for the Polavaram project. He proposed a meeting of the chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh to expedite pending public hearings. Naidu also requested timely fund release for the project, which aims to be completed by mid-2027. The chief minister highlighted progress on rehabilitation and resettlement works, emphasizing the state's commitment to displaced families. Discussions also covered impounding water and developing Polavaram as a tourism destination.

आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री एन चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने केंद्रीय जल शक्ति मंत्रालय से पोलावरम परियोजना के लिए 'काम रोको' आदेश को स्थायी रूप से वापस लेने का आग्रह किया है। उन्होंने लंबित जन सुनवाई में तेजी लाने के लिए आंध्र प्रदेश, ओडिशा और छत्तीसगढ़ के मुख्यमंत्रियों की बैठक का प्रस्ताव रखा। नायडू ने परियोजना के लिए समय पर धन जारी करने का भी अनुरोध किया, जिसका लक्ष्य 2027 के मध्य तक पूरा करना है। मुख्यमंत्री ने पुनर्वास और पुनर्स्थापन कार्यों में प्रगति पर प्रकाश डाला, विस्थापित परिवारों के प्रति राज्य की प्रतिबद्धता पर जोर दिया। पोलावरम को पर्यटन स्थल के रूप में विकसित करने और पानी को रोकने पर भी चर्चा हुई।
