Tiruppur Yarn Makers Seek CCI Role Change

Tiruppur yarn producers are urging garment units to support their plea for the Union government to modify the CCI role. The association highlighted working capital imbalances due to garment manufacturers' long credit periods. They also seek removal of the 11% import duty on cotton and timely payments from garment.

तिरुपूर के धागा उत्पादक गारमेंट यूनिट्स से अपील कर रहे हैं कि वे केंद्र सरकार से कॉटन कॉर्पोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (CCI) की भूमिका बदलने की मांग का समर्थन करें। वे चाहते हैं कि CCI न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य (MSP) पर कपास खरीदे, स्टॉक रखे और टेक्सटाइल उद्योग के लिए कच्चे माल की कीमतें स्थिर करे। एसोसिएशन ने गारमेंट निर्माताओं के लंबे क्रेडिट पीरियड के कारण वर्किंग कैपिटल में असंतुलन पर भी जोर दिया।
