CATL's Q3 Profit Growth Slows Amidst Intense EV Battery Market Competition
Economic Times Markets · stocks
China's CATL reported its slowest net profit growth in nearly two years during the third quarter, with a 14.5% increase to 21.2 billion yuan. This slowdown is attributed to fierce competition in the electric vehicle battery market and cooling auto sales growth in China. Revenue also saw a slower year-on-year climb of 58.6%. Despite this, CATL expanded its global market share slightly to 39.4% in the first eight months, while its share in China's domestic market declined.
