Frequent protests in Delhi's Connaught Place have severely impacted businesses, with some reporting zero sales on protest days. A restaurant owner has approached the Delhi High Court seeking compensation for losses allegedly incurred during demonstrations. The National Restaurant Association of India noted that protest announcements discourage visitors, especially during peak festive seasons. Businesses are urging protesters to choose alternative venues away from commercial areas to avoid further economic damage. The New Delhi Traders Association estimated losses between Rs 150 crore and Rs 200 crore on a single day.
