पीडीपी नेता इल्तिजा मुफ्ती ने फॉरेस्टर पदों के लिए प्रस्तावित भर्ती नियमों के विरोध में प्रदर्शन कर रहे SKUAST-कश्मीर के छात्रों से मुलाकात की। उन्होंने ऐसे नियमों के पीछे के तर्क पर सवाल उठाया जो विशेष वानिकी योग्यताओं को मान्यता नहीं देते, और कहा कि वन प्रबंधन के लिए विशेष तकनीकी ज्ञान की आवश्यकता होती है। मुफ्ती ने विरोध कर रहे छात्रों को हॉस्टल खाली करने के लिए कहने वाले नोटिस पर भी चिंता जताई और कहा कि इससे छात्रों की परेशानी बढ़ेगी, इसलिए बातचीत होनी चाहिए। उन्होंने एक ऐसी निष्पक्ष नीति की मांग की जो विशेष शिक्षा को मान्यता दे और स्नातकों के हितों की रक्षा करे।
