Army Welfare Housing Organisation Challenges Kochi Army Towers Demolition Directive
The Hindu · india
The Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) has approached the Kerala High Court to contest a directive from the Ernakulam District Collector's committee. The committee ordered AWHO to take possession of the Chanderkunj Army Towers before their scheduled demolition. AWHO argues the towers are no longer under its ownership and it is not obligated to collect keys from owners. The organisation fears legal complications and prejudice to its pending Supreme Court cases if it accepts possession. The High Court had previously ordered demolition due to structural issues.
