Cabinet hikes MSP for all Rabi crops; Safflower sees highest ₹675 increase

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved increased Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) for all Rabi crops for the 2027-28 marketing season. Safflower received the largest absolute hike of ₹675 per quintal, with rapeseed and mustard following at ₹413. Wheat MSP is now ₹2,610 per quintal, up ₹25. These increases align with the Union Budget 2018-19's goal of setting MSPs at least 1.5 times the production cost. The government aims to encourage cultivation of pulses and oilseeds through higher MSPs.

आर्थिक मामलों की कैबिनेट समिति ने 2027-28 विपणन सत्र के लिए सभी रबी फसलों के लिए न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य (एमएसपी) में वृद्धि को मंजूरी दे दी है। कुसुम को ₹675 प्रति क्विंटल की सबसे बड़ी पूर्ण वृद्धि मिली, इसके बाद रेपसीड और सरसों ₹413 पर रहीं। गेहूं का एमएसपी अब ₹2,610 प्रति क्विंटल है, जो ₹25 की वृद्धि है। ये वृद्धि केंद्रीय बजट 2018-19 के उत्पादन लागत से कम से कम 1.5 गुना एमएसपी निर्धारित करने के लक्ष्य के अनुरूप हैं। सरकार का लक्ष्य उच्च एमएसपी के माध्यम से दालों और तिलहनों की खेती को प्रोत्साहित करना है।
