Spurious Drugs Racket Kingpin Arrested In Bengaluru

The alleged kingpin of a spurious drugs manufacturing and sale racket in Bengaluru, R. Prashanth, has been arrested. Prashanth was apprehended by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at Kempegowda International Airport upon his return from abroad. He had reportedly been hiding in Azerbaijan since the scam came to light. The arrest followed a raid in August where counterfeit medicines worth approximately ₹5 crore were seized. Prashanth is currently being questioned by the SIT.

बेंगलुरु में नकली दवाएं बनाने और बेचने वाले रैकेट के कथित सरगना आर. प्रशांत को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। प्रशांत को स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम (SIT) ने विदेश से लौटने पर केम्पेगौड़ा इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट पर पकड़ा। बताया जा रहा है कि घोटाला सामने आने के बाद से वह अज़रबैजान में छिपा हुआ था। यह गिरफ्तारी अगस्त में हुई छापेमारी के बाद हुई, जिसमें करीब 5 करोड़ रुपये की नकली दवाएं जब्त की गई थीं। फिलहाल SIT प्रशांत से पूछताछ कर रही है।
