Promising Indian sprinters Mrutyam Jayaram Dondapati and Malaya Barik tragically died in a road accident on Wednesday night near Nakhara on the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar National Highway. Videos of Dondapati’s last race, where he won a silver in the men's 200m event at the Indian Open Under-23 Athletics in Jaipur, circulated online after the news broke. Dondapati, 21, was ranked 455th in the 200m and was a multiple medal winner, while Barik was a quartermiler who recently set a personal best.
