The UN has announced the winners of its 2026 SDG Action Awards, recognizing outstanding grassroots initiatives. The Women's Justice Initiative in Guatemala received the Resilience Award for aiding indigenous women facing violence and discrimination. Mothers of Courage in India won the Creativity Award for their campaign to keep girls in education and prevent early marriage, with over 1.2 million people joining. Malian entrepreneur Rokiatou Traore earned the Changemaker Award for restoring farmland by integrating trees with crops, benefiting small farmers.
