Times of India · environment

Forest personnel from Kullu and Parvati forest circles successfully controlled a fire in the Bijli Mahadev forests of Kullu district on Wednesday. The blaze, which began on Tuesday behind Jia and Talogi villages, raised concerns about threats to wildlife and nearby settlements. Officials suspect the fire was deliberately lit, a common occurrence in the area due to small fires escalating. Firefighting efforts were hampered by the steep terrain, but staff persevered despite challenging conditions. The DFO plans a review of vulnerable areas and urged the public to avoid starting fires.
