Gaya's Famous Tilkut Sweet Set To Receive GI Tag Status Within Three Months

Gaya's renowned sweet, Tilkut, which has a history spanning over 100 years, is expected to be granted Geographical Indication (GI) tag status within the next three months. Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar confirmed that necessary documentation has been submitted, with efforts to secure the tag beginning in 2017. The GI tag is anticipated to boost Tilkut's national and international recognition, thereby improving market opportunities for the thousands of local producers and artisans involved in its production.

गया की मशहूर मिठाई, तिलकुट, जिसका इतिहास 100 साल से भी ज़्यादा पुराना है, अगले तीन महीनों के अंदर भौगोलिक संकेत (जीआई) टैग का दर्जा पाने की उम्मीद है। विधानसभा अध्यक्ष प्रेम कुमार ने पुष्टि की कि ज़रूरी दस्तावेज़ जमा कर दिए गए हैं, और 2017 में टैग हासिल करने के प्रयास शुरू हुए थे। जीआई टैग से तिलकुट की राष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पहचान को बढ़ावा मिलने की उम्मीद है, जिससे इसके उत्पादन में शामिल हज़ारों स्थानीय उत्पादकों और कारीगरों के लिए बाज़ार के अवसर बढ़ेंगे।
