MP John Brittas Seeks President’s Intervention As JNU Hunger Strike Enters 17th Day

CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas has appealed to President Droupadi Murmu and Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi to intervene in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students' indefinite hunger strike, which has now reached its 17th day. The students are protesting alleged administrative failures to address their long-standing concerns, including the rustication of elected student union representatives. Brittas highlighted the deteriorating health of the striking students and urged the revocation of rustication orders and withdrawal of objectionable provisions from the Chief Proctor's Office Manual.

सीपीआई(एम) के राज्यसभा सांसद जॉन ब्रिट्टस ने जवाहरलाल नेहरू यूनिवर्सिटी (जेएनयू) के छात्रों की अनिश्चितकालीन भूख हड़ताल में राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू और केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री प्रह्लाद जोशी से हस्तक्षेप की अपील की है, जो अब 17वें दिन में प्रवेश कर गई है। छात्र निर्वाचित छात्र संघ प्रतिनिधियों को निष्कासित करने सहित उनकी लंबे समय से चली आ रही चिंताओं को दूर करने में कथित प्रशासनिक विफलताओं के विरोध में प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं। ब्रिट्टस ने हड़ताली छात्रों के बिगड़ते स्वास्थ्य पर प्रकाश डाला और निष्कासन आदेशों को रद्द करने और मुख्य प्रॉक्टर कार्यालय की नियमावली से आपत्तिजनक प्रावधानों को वापस लेने का आग्रह किया।
