Doctors in Delhi discovered a 26-year-old man had a uterus and fallopian tubes due to a rare genetic condition. The man, who appeared outwardly normal, sought help for infertility. This condition, Persistent Müllerian PMDS, occurs when internal female reproductive organs remain despite a 46XY male chromosome count. Worldwide, fewer than 300 cases have been reported. Doctors surgically removed the organs, noting a potential cancer risk in one testicle. The patient will require testosterone therapy post-surgery.

दिल्ली के डॉक्टरों को एक 26 साल के आदमी के शरीर में बच्चेदानी और फैलोपियन ट्यूब मिलीं। यह एक दुर्लभ जेनेटिक बीमारी की वजह से हुआ। यह आदमी, जो बाहर से बिल्कुल सामान्य दिखता था, बांझपन के इलाज के लिए डॉक्टर के पास गया था। इस बीमारी को Persistent Müllerian PMDS कहते हैं। इसमें 46XY पुरुष क्रोमोसोम होने के बावजूद अंदरूनी महिला प्रजनन अंग बने रह जाते हैं। दुनिया भर में ऐसे 300 से भी कम मामले सामने आए हैं। डॉक्टरों ने इन अंगों को सर्जरी करके निकाल दिया है। उन्होंने एक टेस्टिकल में कैंसर का खतरा भी बताया है। सर्जरी के बाद इस मरीज को टेस्टोस्टेरोन थेरेपी की ज़रूरत पड़ेगी।
