Trichy Corporation Leads Property Tax Collection, Exceeding 55% Target

Trichy Corporation has achieved a significant milestone by collecting 55.4% of its total current property tax demand for the financial year 2026-27, ranking first among municipal corporations in Tamil Nadu, excluding Chennai. This success is attributed to measures like publishing lists of top defaulters and disconnecting essential services for long-term non-payers. Intensive collection drives, including public announcements and online defaulter lists, have boosted overall tax collection to 46.8%. The corporation is also offering a 5% waiver on property tax for payments made before to encourage timely dues.

त्रिची निगम ने वित्तीय वर्ष 2026-27 के लिए अपनी कुल वर्तमान संपत्ति कर मांग का 55.4% वसूल करके एक महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि हासिल की है, और चेन्नई को छोड़कर तमिलनाडु के नगर निगमों में पहला स्थान प्राप्त किया है। यह सफलता शीर्ष कर बकाएदारों की सूची प्रकाशित करने और लंबे समय से भुगतान न करने वालों की आवश्यक सेवाओं को काटने जैसे उपायों के कारण मिली है। सघन वसूली अभियानों, जिसमें सार्वजनिक घोषणाएं और ऑनलाइन बकाएदारों की सूची शामिल है, ने कुल कर वसूली को 46.8% तक बढ़ाया है। निगम समय पर भुगतान को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए संपत्ति कर पर 5% की छूट भी दे रहा है।
