India head coach Gautam Gambhir has clarified why teenage batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had to wait for his chance despite good form. Sooryavanshi, who became the youngest Indian to play international cricket at 15, did not play in the Afghanistan series or against Japan. Gambhir explained that team selection prioritizes combinations that have performed well and that external noise like social media doesn't dictate the playing eleven. He emphasized that sometimes players must wait for their opportunity to foster dressing room security.

टीम इंडिया के हेड कोच गौतम गंभीर ने बताया कि क्यों युवा बल्लेबाज वैभव सूर्यवंशी को अच्छी फॉर्म के बावजूद अपने मौके का इंतज़ार करना पड़ा। 15 साल की उम्र में अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट खेलने वाले सबसे कम उम्र के भारतीय बने सूर्यवंशी, अफगानिस्तान सीरीज या जापान के खिलाफ नहीं खेले थे। गंभीर ने समझाया कि टीम चयन में उन कॉम्बिनेशन को प्राथमिकता दी जाती है जिन्होंने अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया है और सोशल मीडिया जैसे बाहरी शोर से प्लेइंग इलेवन तय नहीं होती। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि कभी-कभी खिलाड़ियों को ड्रेसिंग रूम की सुरक्षा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए अपने मौके का इंतजार करना पड़ता है।
