Saudi Arabia Probes Air Defence Failures Amid Deadly Houthi Strikes

Hindustan Times · world

Saudi Arabia is investigating its air defence system's failure to detect and intercept Houthi missiles and drones that travelled over 1,000 kilometres to strike Riyadh. The attacks on King Khalid International Airport reportedly killed at least 13 people and wounded over 300. Officials familiar with the findings indicated the Houthis launched multiple drones before firing missiles. The Saudi-led coalition confirmed intercepting two ballistic missiles aimed at the capital on October 12, intensifying scrutiny of the kingdom's defence capabilities.
