Tamil Nadu police are set to acquire advanced 'anti-drone guns' capable of disrupting the communication and navigation systems of unauthorized unmanned aerial vehicles. This move follows the discovery of an unidentified drone at Coimbatore airport and the seizure of over 200 illegal Chinese drones last year. The ₹1.52 crore procurement will include six gun-and-detector systems, with detectors having a 3km range and guns jamming targets within 1km. The system can neutralize a drone within 10 seconds, potentially causing it to descend or crash.

तमिलनाडु पुलिस जल्द ही एडवांस्ड 'एंटी-ड्रोन गन' खरीदने वाली है जो अनधिकृत मानव रहित हवाई वाहनों के कम्युनिकेशन और नेविगेशन सिस्टम को बाधित कर सकती हैं। यह कदम कोयंबटूर हवाई अड्डे पर एक अज्ञात ड्रोन की खोज और पिछले साल 200 से अधिक अवैध चीनी ड्रोन जब्त किए जाने के बाद उठाया गया है। ₹1.52 करोड़ की इस खरीद में छह गन-और-डिटेक्टर सिस्टम शामिल होंगे, जिनमें डिटेक्टरों की रेंज 3 किमी होगी और गन 1 किमी के दायरे में टारगेट को जाम कर सकेंगी। यह सिस्टम 10 सेकंड के भीतर एक ड्रोन को बेअसर कर सकता है, जिससे वह नीचे उतर सकता है या क्रैश हो सकता है।
