State Information Commission to Seek Clarity From Kochi Corporation on RTI Curb Move

SIC is set to question the Kochi Corporation regarding its recent decision to investigate the financial backgrounds of individuals frequently filing Right to Information (RTI) applications. The civic body stated this move aims to address misuse of the Act, not to curb its provisions. The SIC will discuss the issue suo motu and ascertain if any resolution was passed to restrict RTI filings.
