Madras HC Halts Question Paper Fee Collection From Govt School Students

The Madras High Court has issued an interim injunction preventing authorities from collecting question paper fees from students in government high and higher secondary schools across Tamil Nadu. This order came in response to a public interest litigation filed by the Tamil Nadu High-Higher Secondary School Graduate Teachers’ Association. The petitioner highlighted the importance of accessible education for economically weaker sections and questioned the authorization and utilization of previously collected fees.

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने तमिलनाडु में सरकारी हाई और हायर सेकेंडरी स्कूलों के छात्रों से प्रश्न पत्र शुल्क वसूलने पर रोक लगा दी है। यह आदेश तमिलनाडु हाई-हायर सेकेंडरी स्कूल ग्रेजुएट टीचर्स एसोसिएशन द्वारा दायर एक जनहित याचिका के जवाब में आया है। याचिकाकर्ता ने आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्गों के लिए सुलभ शिक्षा के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला और पहले से एकत्र किए गए शुल्क के प्राधिकरण और उपयोग पर सवाल उठाया।
