A 45-year-old woman in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, fell approximately 15 feet into an underground chamber when the floor of her historic house collapsed on Wednesday night. The house, a former Scindia-era administrative court, sits above an old grain storage pit. She was changing a bedsheet when the ground gave way. Family and neighbours rescued her using a ladder, and she was hospitalized with stable injuries. The collapse is suspected to be due to water seepage weakening the soil beneath the sealed structure.
