ECI Overhauls Decision-Making, Voter Roll Processes After Internal Objections

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has implemented significant changes to its internal decision-making and voter roll management processes following objections from its members. New rules mandate agenda circulation before meetings and require commission approval for foreign visits. IT modules will now undergo committee review before commission placement. The ECI also capped Form 7 deletion applications and modified online Form 6 voter registration procedures. These adjustments aim to ensure greater transparency and adherence to established procedures in electoral roll management.

चुनाव आयोग (ECI) ने अपने सदस्यों की आपत्तियों के बाद अपनी आंतरिक निर्णय लेने की प्रक्रियाओं और मतदाता सूची प्रबंधन प्रक्रियाओं में महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव लागू किए हैं। नए नियमों के तहत बैठकों से पहले एजेंडा प्रसारित करना अनिवार्य है और विदेशी यात्राओं के लिए आयोग की मंजूरी की आवश्यकता होगी। आईटी मॉड्यूल अब आयोग में रखे जाने से पहले समिति की समीक्षा से गुजरेंगे। ECI ने फॉर्म 7 के विलोपन आवेदनों की सीमा भी तय की और ऑनलाइन फॉर्म 6 मतदाता पंजीकरण प्रक्रियाओं को संशोधित किया। इन समायोजनों का उद्देश्य चुनावी सूची प्रबंधन में अधिक पारदर्शिता और स्थापित प्रक्रियाओं का पालन सुनिश्चित करना है।
