Backward Classes Commission Warns Village Committees Against Social Boycotts

The Telangana Commission for Backward Classes (TGCBC) has warned Village Development Committees (VDCs) against imposing social boycotts and fines. Around 90 victims from Nizamabad district submitted complaints alleging harassment by VDCs in the name of village development. Commission chairman G. Niranjan directed strict action against VDCs violating laws and imposing fines. He noted that such practices continue decades after independence and suggested forming a special committee to monitor VDC functioning. The Collector assured the commission of strong measures to curb social boycotts.

तेलंगाना पिछड़ा वर्ग आयोग (TGCBC) ने ग्राम विकास समितियों (VDCs) को सामाजिक बहिष्कार और जुर्माना लगाने के खिलाफ चेतावनी दी है। निजामाबाद जिले से करीब 90 पीड़ितों ने ग्राम विकास के नाम पर VDCs द्वारा उत्पीड़न की शिकायतें दर्ज कराईं। आयोग के अध्यक्ष जी. निरंजन ने कानूनों का उल्लंघन करने और जुर्माना लगाने वाली VDCs के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई के निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि आजादी के दशकों बाद भी ऐसी प्रथाएं जारी हैं और VDC के कामकाज की निगरानी के लिए एक विशेष समिति बनाने का सुझाव दिया। कलेक्टर ने आयोग को सामाजिक बहिष्कार को रोकने के लिए कड़े कदम उठाने का आश्वासन दिया।
