Karnataka's Food Minister Rizwan Arshad has claimed that E20 petrol samples tested in labs contained up to 31.2% ethanol, exceeding the 20% limit. The state government collected 63 samples from major oil companies, with private labs revealing significantly higher ethanol content than initially reported. Arshad stated this practice is a financial attack on the public, causing an estimated annual loss of ₹62,000 crore due to reduced mileage and engine damage. The government is demanding compensation for consumers and urging the central government to address the issue.
