CJP Leaders Sent To 5-Day Custody; Party Founder Slams PM Modi

Times of India · politics

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi after two party leaders, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, were sent to five days of judicial custody. The leaders were detained for allegedly breaching barricades and entering Jantar Mantar, a denotified protest site, and raising slogans. Dipke alleged the action was to suppress dissent and unfurling the Tricolour was their only fault. The CJP objects to Jantar Mantar being denotified, arguing it diminishes the visibility of public dissent.
