Kochi Slum Rehab Apartments Unfit For Living, Residents Face Risk
Times of India · india
Families in Kochi, previously living in seasonal rehabilitation camps, have been moved into a new apartment complex built by GCDA under the LIFE Mission scheme. However, residents soon discovered severe construction flaws, including wall cracks and leaking toilets, making the building unsafe. Furthermore, the complex was built directly under a 110KV electric line, posing a significant electrocution risk and preventing land ownership transfer. Despite bringing these issues to authorities' attention, no solutions have been provided, leaving residents in a precarious situation.
