The Allahabad High Court has ordered compensation of Rs 40,000 for a man unlawfully detained at a police station for four days. The man was held in connection with a case against his brother, who had received anticipatory bail. The court observed that police cannot use innocent family members as pressure tactics to compel an accused to surrender. CCTV footage and call detail records corroborated the man's presence at the George Town police station in Prayagraj.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने एक आदमी को चार दिनों तक अवैध रूप से पुलिस स्टेशन में हिरासत में रखने के लिए ₹40,000 के मुआवजे का आदेश दिया है। उस आदमी को उसके भाई के खिलाफ एक मामले के संबंध में हिरासत में लिया गया था, जिसे अग्रिम जमानत मिल गई थी। अदालत ने कहा कि पुलिस किसी आरोपी को आत्मसमर्पण कराने के लिए निर्दोष परिवार के सदस्यों का इस्तेमाल दबाव की रणनीति के तौर पर नहीं कर सकती। CCTV फुटेज और कॉल डिटेल रिकॉर्ड ने Prayagraj के George Town पुलिस स्टेशन में उस आदमी की मौजूदगी की पुष्टि की।
