Rajasthan's senior IAS officer Shikhar Agarwal, an IIT Kanpur alumnus and 1993 batch officer, has been placed on Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) by the state government. This action follows reports of his family purchasing 40 villa-cottages worth over ₹6.16 crore in Udaipur and Alwar over approximately two and a half years. Agarwal previously held significant positions, including Additional Chief Secretary for industry and investment departments. While the government cited administrative reasons for his APO status, the property acquisition is widely speculated to be the underlying cause.
