Yemen's government has launched a new military offensive against the Houthis, testing its ability to persuade tribes in Houthi-controlled areas to join the fight. Many tribes have been wary of confronting the Houthis due to their military strength and past failed uprisings. However, recent advances by government forces on the Red Sea coast and in Marib are being closely watched. A large tribal rally in Marib announced general mobilization to support the armed forces in reclaiming the state and toppling the Houthi coup.
