Parliament Increases Supreme Court Judge Numbers

Parliament has approved an increase in the number of Supreme Court judges. This marks the first such rise since 2019. Previously, the sanctioned strength was 31 judges, which was then increased to 34. The expansion aims to address the growing workload and backlog of cases within the apex court, ensuring more efficient judicial functioning and timely delivery of justice across the country.

संसद ने Supreme Court में जजों की संख्या बढ़ाने को मंजूरी दे दी है। यह 2019 के बाद पहली बार हुआ है। पहले जजों की कुल संख्या 31 थी, जिसे बढ़ाकर अब 34 कर दिया गया है। इसका मकसद सुप्रीम कोर्ट में बढ़ते काम और लंबित मामलों से निपटना है, ताकि न्याय जल्दी और बेहतर तरीके से मिल सके।
