Two Youths Drown Bathing In Cauvery River

Two young men drowned while bathing in the Cauvery river near Trichy on Sunday. The deceased, identified as V Parthasarathy, 20, and K Harigokul, 17, were part of a group of employees who went to the Mukkombu barrage. Four individuals ventured into deeper waters and were swept away by the current, with two being rescued. A 24-hour search operation by firefighters eventually recovered both bodies downstream. Authorities have issued warnings against bathing in the river.
