A small Buddha statue purchased for just over SEK 20 at a Swedish flea market in the 1980s has been identified as a rare Ming dynasty artifact. Experts traced the gilt-bronze sculpture of Shakyamuni Buddha to the Yongle period (1403-1424) of China's Ming dynasty. After spending decades in a private Swedish home, the statue sold for SEK 2,437,500 at auction. This remarkable find represents a return of over 120,000 times its original purchase price.
