Pallatt Brahmadathan, a 65-year-old elephant popular at temple festivals across Keralam, has died after being struck by lightning near Erattupetta in Kottayam. The incident occurred during a thunderstorm on Sunday evening while the tusker was resting after a bout of musth. Brahmadathan, originally from Bihar, was known for his calm demeanor and was a familiar sight at major events like the Thrissur Pooram. Many people gathered at his owner's home to pay their final respects to the beloved elephant.

केरलम में मंदिर उत्सवों में लोकप्रिय 65 वर्षीय हाथी पल्लाट ब्रह्मदत्त की एर्नाकुलम के पास एरुमेली में बिजली गिरने से मौत हो गई। यह घटना रविवार शाम को आई तेज आंधी के दौरान हुई जब हाथी को मदमस्त होने के बाद आराम कर रहा था। मूल रूप से बिहार के ब्रह्मदत्त अपने शांत स्वभाव के लिए जाने जाते थे और त्रिशूर पूरम जैसे बड़े आयोजनों में एक जाना-पहचाना चेहरा थे। कई लोग प्रिय हाथी को अंतिम श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए उसके मालिक के घर इकट्ठा हुए।
