Telangana Minister Accuses BRS of Using SCCL as 'ATM'

Times of India · politics

Telangana Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu has accused the previous BRS government of exploiting Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) as an "ATM," leading to its financial distress. He rejected allegations by BRS leader KT Rama Rao, stating the Congress government has introduced transparency and ended commission-based tenders. Babu alleged that the BRS government failed to clear dues from power utilities, accumulating thousands of crores and pushing SCCL into a debt trap. He also claimed the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant was built for commissions and left with defects.
