The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Odisha and Kerala as a depression over the Bay of Bengal intensifies into a severe cyclonic storm. The storm is expected to make landfall on the Andhra Pradesh coast by October 28, with wind speeds reaching up to 140 kmph. Odisha has alerted five southern districts, ordering school closures, while Kerala has issued a red alert for three districts, shutting educational institutions and tourist spots.

भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग (IMD) ने बंगाल की खाड़ी में बने डिप्रेशन के गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान में बदलने के कारण ओडिशा और केरल में अत्यधिक भारी बारिश के लिए रेड अलर्ट जारी किया है। यह तूफान 28 अक्टूबर तक आंध्र प्रदेश के तट से टकराने की उम्मीद है, जिसकी हवा की गति 140 किमी प्रति घंटे तक पहुंच सकती है। ओडिशा ने पांच दक्षिणी जिलों को अलर्ट पर रखा है और स्कूलों को बंद करने का आदेश दिया है, जबकि केरल ने तीन जिलों के लिए रेड अलर्ट जारी किया है, शैक्षणिक संस्थानों और पर्यटन स्थलों को बंद कर दिया है।
