Coffee Board Launches New Sustainability Certification Framework

India's Coffee Board has developed and is implementing a new sustainability certification framework to enhance the appeal of its coffee exports. This initiative aims to leverage the distinctive advantage of India's traditional shade-grown cultivation methods. The certification process will occur in three stages, starting with self-certification by growers, followed by third-party verification, and finally benchmarking against international standards. This move is expected to bolster the value-added segment of India's coffee exports, which already exceeded $2 billion in 2025-26.

कॉफी बोर्ड ने भारतीय कॉफ़ी निर्यात को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक नई सस्टेनेबिलिटी सर्टिफिकेशन फ्रेमवर्क तैयार की है। यह भारत की पारंपरिक छाया-खेती को बढ़ावा देगा। यह प्रक्रिया तीन चरणों में होगी: पहले किसान खुद सर्टिफाई करेंगे, फिर थर्ड-पार्टी वेरिफिकेशन होगा, और आखिर में अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों से तुलना की जाएगी। इससे कॉफ़ी निर्यात के वैल्यू-एडेड सेगमेंट को मजबूती मिलेगी, जो 2025-26 में 2 अरब डॉलर से अधिक था।
