Tamil Nadu will establish 26 new special courts exclusively for Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) cases, increasing the total to 52. Additionally, four special courts will be set up to expedite drug trafficking trials under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, adding to the existing 11. This decision follows a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, aimed at speeding up trials and ensuring timely justice for survivors.
