NTT Data Nears Deal to Build Anthropic's First Japan Data Centre

NTT Data Group is reportedly in final negotiations to construct Anthropic's inaugural dedicated data centre in Osaka, Japan. The project, aimed at supporting the US AI company's operations, could involve construction costs up to 1 trillion yen ($6.3 billion). The facility is planned to have a power intake capacity of 500 megawatts, with partial operations potentially starting as early as 2028. Both companies are targeting an agreement by the end of fiscal year 2026.
