Banks across the state saw a steady customer rush on Sunday following a directive from the Union finance ministry to remain open. This was in anticipation of a nationwide bank strike scheduled to 30. Customers visited branches to complete transactions like cash deposits, cheque clearances, and loan formalities before the potential disruption. Bank officials reported higher footfall than usual, with many customers prioritizing urgent banking needs over postponing them. Small traders also utilized the open hours to manage business payments and clear pending transactions.
