Internet Use Study Flags Emotional, Physical Impact on Children
The Hindu · india
A study supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) reveals significant emotional and physical impacts of internet use on school-going children. The research found that 97.6% of children access the internet at home, primarily using smartphones, and spend an average of 4.5 hours daily. Many children struggle to limit their usage, showing signs of addiction, with anxiety, sleep disturbances, and mood changes being common consequences. The study recommends digital literacy programs for children and parents, with active school involvement, to address these vulnerabilities.
