Indian Bonds Rise As US Yields Drop, Offsetting Oil Inflation Concerns

Economic Times Markets · stocks

Indian government bonds saw an increase on Monday, recovering from a flat opening to the shortened trading week. This rise was driven by a significant drop in US Treasury yields, which counteracted concerns over oil-related inflation and encouraged value buying. The benchmark 6.94% 2036 bond yield was trading at 7.3551%. India's 10-year benchmark bond yield has been on a record upward trend for nine consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, overnight indexed swap rates also declined, mirroring the drop in Treasury yields.
