कोझिकोड के व्यापारी, केरल व्यापारी व्यवसाय एकोपना समिति (KVVES) के बैनर तले, अवैध स्ट्रीट वेंडरों के बढ़ते चलन के खिलाफ विरोध कर रहे हैं। उनका आरोप है कि ये वेंडर बिना किसी वैधानिक दायित्व के काम करते हैं, जिससे किराए, लाइसेंस और टैक्स जैसे खर्चों को वहन करने वाले कानूनी व्यवसायों के लिए एक बड़ी चुनौती खड़ी हो गई है। एसोसिएशन ने 6 अक्टूबर, 2026 को कोझिकोड कॉर्पोरेशन कार्यालय में एक मार्च और धरना आयोजित करने की योजना बनाई है, जिसमें स्ट्रीट वेंडर्स एक्ट के अनुसार वेंडरों को निर्दिष्ट क्षेत्रों तक सीमित रखने की मांग की गई है। यदि मांगों को पूरा नहीं किया गया, तो आंदोलन अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी फैल सकता है।
