Former minister slams Tamil Nadu govt for economic mismanagement, citing GST decline

Former finance minister Thangam Thennarasu has accused the current Tamil Nadu government of economic mismanagement, pointing to a 5% decline in GST collections over three consecutive months. He highlighted that the state previously experienced double-digit GST growth under the DMK regime. Thennarasu expressed concern over stagnating industrial production and shrinking consumption, contrasting it with other states' growth. He attributed these issues to administrative failures and questioned the government's handling of investments and financial management.

पूर्व वित्त मंत्री थंगम तेन्नारासु ने मौजूदा तमिलनाडु सरकार पर आर्थिक कुप्रबंधन का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि लगातार तीन महीनों में जीएसटी संग्रह में 5% की गिरावट आई है। उन्होंने बताया कि डीएमके शासन के दौरान राज्य में जीएसटी की वृद्धि दो अंकों में होती थी। तेन्नारासु ने अन्य राज्यों के विकास की तुलना में औद्योगिक उत्पादन में ठहराव और खपत में कमी पर चिंता जताई। उन्होंने इन समस्याओं के लिए प्रशासनिक विफलताओं को जिम्मेदार ठहराया और सरकार के निवेश और वित्तीय प्रबंधन के तरीके पर सवाल उठाए।
