Former Mauritius President Prithvirajsing Roopun has called for enhanced cooperation between India and Mauritius to address issues like brain drain, unemployment, and inequality. Speaking at an event in Kottayam, Kerala, he highlighted historical connections and cultural similarities between the two nations, noting their multi-racial societies living in harmony. Roopun also launched 'Vidyakiran,' a project by the Oommen Chandy Foundation to provide free education to 100 students annually. He was presented with the Second Oommen Chandy Award during the function.
