A leading Korean economist, Kyunghoon Kim, predicts India is poised for its longest period of economic growth exceeding 7% in decades. Following a 5.8% contraction in 2020, India's economy rebounded with 9.7% growth in 2021 and has maintained over 7% annually since. This sustained performance rivals the 2003-2007 period, with current forecasts suggesting India could surpass its previous record. International bodies like the IMF, World Bank, and ADB have also raised their growth projections for India to around 7% for the next two fiscal years.
