Sunil Gavaskar: West Indies' IPL match-winners deserve more recognition

Sportstar · sports

Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar believes West Indian players are crucial match-winners in the Indian Premier League but often don't receive the same recognition or pay as players from other nations. He highlighted that despite their significant contributions with bat and ball, and their entertaining style, they are frequently overlooked. Gavaskar also noted that former West Indian cricketers are not often considered for coaching roles, possibly due to a misunderstanding of their thoughtful approach to the game. He argued that their tactical understanding is practical and often underestimated.
